On January 30, the Eldar cinema hosted the grand premiere of the documentary film “The Mountain of Languages” directed by Rodion Ismailov.

This event marked the symbolic launch of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, proclaimed by a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin for 2026.

The “Polylog” Foundation, which has supported the project from the very beginning, took the President’s Message as a direct call to action: to preserve cultural diversity, strengthen identity, and pass on to future generations a sense of pride in our shared homeland. The film “Mountain of Languages” became the first vivid embodiment of this mission.

The film tells the story of Dagestan—a unique region where speakers of 32 languages and 120 dialects have lived in peace and harmony for centuries. Through the characters’ stories, the viewer sees how traditions, faith in God, and love for parents, mothers, and the Motherland are preserved. The film’s main message is clear to everyone without needing to be spelled out:

We are different—and that is our strength. We are united—when it comes to love for God, for family, and for the Fatherland. We are Russia.

“We have a unique country. And that is why we must do everything to strengthen our commonality, our unity—civic and national—and thus our state and all-Russian identity,” — emphasized Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

That is precisely why “The Mountain of Languages” is not just a movie, but a living reminder that unity is not an abstraction, but a daily choice that makes us stronger.

The evening at “Eldar” took place in an atmosphere of genuine unity. The hall was filled with people of different nationalities and generations, and everyone left with the feeling that:

Together, we are strong. Russia is our great homeland. Russia is a world within this world.

The “Polylog” Foundation would like to thank:

• Director Rodion Ismailov—for a revelatory film that touches the depths of the soul,

• The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Dagestan—for their support in creating the film,

• All the audience members—for their open hearts and their belief that dialogue between cultures is both possible and necessary.

Ahead lie new screenings, new cities, and new people who will see “The Mountain of Languages.”

We continue to build bridges between cultures—because together we are truly stronger.
</turbo:content>

As part of the application, applicants must provide links or files to previously published scholarly works and/or books, as well as a free-form abstract of the future work of up to 4,000 characters.

The selection committee will review applications from August 1 to September 15, 2026. The results of the competition will be published on September 16, 2026, on the Foundation’s official website. Contracts with the winners are scheduled to be signed by October 15, 2026. The deadlines for preparing and submitting manuscripts will be determined individually with each grant recipient.

The Polylog Foundation implements projects aimed at developing interethnic dialogue, supporting cultural and educational initiatives, as well as preserving historical heritage and strengthening humanitarian ties. The grant announcement took place during a special screening of the feature film “Oil,” dedicated to the outstanding Azerbaijani patron and pioneer of the oil industry, Haji Taghiyev. Both this screening and the grant competition announced during it—for the preparation of popular science books on the history of Russian patronage titled “Patronage in Russia: The Origins of Philanthropy”—are timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by Decree of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for2026.

“Philanthropy is not merely about supporting the arts or science. It is a profound, far-reaching process that shapes society’s worldview, spirit, and faith. Without it, it is difficult to imagine a country’s full life or the life of each of its citizens. This concept is deeply rooted in our history—in the lives of outstanding individuals and in the deeds of those who gave from the heart. To study this priceless heritage, to reflect on it, to give readers the opportunity to experience it, and to open the spirit of philanthropy to every caring person—I consider this my important mission today,” noted Ramil Kerimov, head of the Polylog Foundation.
</turbo:content>

Thus, the book by Soviet and Russian philosopher Heydar Jahidovich Dzhemal was translated into Azerbaijani and English.
The Polylog Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations announces the launch of a new public education project—“The Patron’s Bulletin”.

      <turbo:content>

The “Polylog” Foundation is launching the global educational project “The Patron's Gazette” in honor of the Year of National Unity

The “Polylog” Foundation is launching the global educational project “The Patron's Gazette” in honor of the Year of National Unity

The Polylog Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations announces the launch of a new public educational project—“The Patron’s Bulletin”—dedicated to the history and contemporary state of patronage, philanthropy, and social service in Russia and around the world.

This new information platform aims to bring together the historical legacy of global philanthropy, best contemporary charitable practices, expert materials, research, interviews, and the stories of people whose work contributes to the development of culture, education, science, medicine, and public institutions.

Today, as society increasingly turns its attention to issues of social responsibility, the preservation of historical memory, and traditional spiritual and moral values, promoting inspiring examples of service to others and one’s country has taken on particular significance. At the same time, the contributions of patrons and philanthropists often remain outside the spotlight of public attention, despite their significance for the development of the state and society.

The “Patron’s Bulletin” project aims to bring the topic of patronage back to the public agenda as a vital tradition of world civilization, to highlight the continuity of generations of philanthropists, and to foster respect for those who dedicate their energy, knowledge, and resources to addressing socially significant challenges.

The project’s pages will feature articles on outstanding philanthropists of the past and present, the history of charitable initiatives, analytical pieces, interviews with representatives from the business community, civil society organizations, and the academic and cultural sectors, as well as overviews of best social practices from various regions of Russia and around the world.

The editorial team will pay special attention to the multinational traditions of philanthropy among the peoples of Russia, the preservation of historical memory of outstanding philanthropists, and the promotion of their legacy among the younger generation.

“For centuries, it was patrons who established schools and hospitals, supported scientists, artists, and educators, and helped people during the most difficult periods of history. Thanks to their efforts, the cultural and spiritual foundation of our society was formed. Today, it is extremely important not only to preserve the memory of these people but also to tell the stories of contemporary philanthropists who continue the tradition of creative service. We are convinced that philanthropy is not merely aid, but a special form of civic responsibility and love for one’s country. “This is precisely why the Polylog Foundation created the ‘Philanthropist’s Bulletin’ project, which will serve as a platform for bringing together historical experience, modern practices, and new meanings of global philanthropy,” noted Ramil Kerimov, Chairman of the Polylog Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations.

The project has already launched and will regularly publish content dedicated to the development of philanthropy, social service, civic initiatives, and a culture of active participation in the life of the country.

The launch of the “Philanthropist’s Gazette” is a continuation of the Polylog Foundation’s systematic work to preserve and promote the legacy of philanthropists. Ahead of Russia Day, the foundation also announced a nationwide grant competition to create a book about Russia’s outstanding philanthropists. Both initiatives are being implemented during the Year of National Unity and are aimed at strengthening historical memory, promoting traditions of constructive service to society, and fostering respect for people whose actions and philanthropic activities over the centuries have contributed to the development of the state, culture, science, and education.
</turbo:content>

The Foundation’s initiative is linked to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and aligns with the government’s policy agenda to preserve the cultural and linguistic diversity of the country’s peoples.

      <turbo:content>

Ahead of Russia Day, the “Polylog” Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations submitted a proposal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to grant Navruz the status of a national holiday.

The Foundation’s initiative is linked to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and aligns with the government’s policy agenda for preserving the cultural and linguistic diversity of the country’s peoples. This is stated in the Foundation’s appeal to the head of state.

The authors of the initiative request that relevant government agencies be tasked with developing possible legal mechanisms for implementing this proposal. The Foundation believes that such a step will be one of the landmark decisions of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

“Navruz is one of the oldest holidays of the peoples of Eurasia. In ethnographic and journalistic tradition, there is a view that this holiday originated in Altai more than 3,000 years ago, meaning it predates all major religions. In the modern perception, it retains, above all, cultural, natural-calendar, and social significance. For many peoples of Russia, it is associated with historical memory, family tradition, respect for elders, good neighborliness, and cultural continuity,” the statement reads.

The “Polylog” Foundation emphasizes that Navruz should not be viewed solely as a regional or ethnocultural holiday. According to the foundation, its significance is broader: it is associated with the ideas of renewal, peace, harmony, hospitality, and mutual support.

A separate argument cited in the appeal is Russian Federation Government Decree No. 1228-r of May 26, 2026, which approved a plan of measures for implementing the Fundamentals of the State Language Policy of the Russian Federation. The document includes measures for the preservation and development of the state languages of the republics of the Russian Federation and other languages of the peoples of Russia.

The Foundation believes that language, culture, collective memory, and festive traditions form a unified space of national identity. Therefore, the recognition of Navruz at the national level could serve as a continuation of state policy aimed at preserving cultural diversity and strengthening interethnic harmony.

“For a multi-ethnic Russia, such decisions have not only cultural but also socio-political significance. Navruz speaks a language understood by different peoples: renewal, family, respect, peace, and good neighborliness. In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, recognizing this tradition could send an important signal of respect for the contribution of the country’s peoples to the shared Russian identity,” — noted Ramil Kerimov, head of the “Polylog” Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations.

Navruz is celebrated on March 21 and symbolizes the beginning of spring and the renewal of nature. UNESCO classifies it as one of the cultural traditions of many peoples, associated with the values of peace, intergenerational solidarity, reconciliation, and good neighborliness. In 2009, Navruz was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and in 2010, the UN General Assembly proclaimed March 21 as International Navruz Day.
</turbo:content>
