The “Polylog” Foundation is launching the global educational project “The Patron's Gazette” in honor of the Year of National Unity
The Polylog Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations announces the launch of a new public educational project—“The Patron’s Bulletin”—dedicated to the history and contemporary state of patronage, philanthropy, and social service in Russia and around the world.
This new information platform aims to bring together the historical legacy of global philanthropy, best contemporary charitable practices, expert materials, research, interviews, and the stories of people whose work contributes to the development of culture, education, science, medicine, and public institutions.
Today, as society increasingly turns its attention to issues of social responsibility, the preservation of historical memory, and traditional spiritual and moral values, promoting inspiring examples of service to others and one’s country has taken on particular significance. At the same time, the contributions of patrons and philanthropists often remain outside the spotlight of public attention, despite their significance for the development of the state and society.
The “Patron’s Bulletin” project aims to bring the topic of patronage back to the public agenda as a vital tradition of world civilization, to highlight the continuity of generations of philanthropists, and to foster respect for those who dedicate their energy, knowledge, and resources to addressing socially significant challenges.
The project’s pages will feature articles on outstanding philanthropists of the past and present, the history of charitable initiatives, analytical pieces, interviews with representatives from the business community, civil society organizations, and the academic and cultural sectors, as well as overviews of best social practices from various regions of Russia and around the world.
The editorial team will pay special attention to the multinational traditions of philanthropy among the peoples of Russia, the preservation of historical memory of outstanding philanthropists, and the promotion of their legacy among the younger generation.
“For centuries, it was patrons who established schools and hospitals, supported scientists, artists, and educators, and helped people during the most difficult periods of history. Thanks to their efforts, the cultural and spiritual foundation of our society was formed. Today, it is extremely important not only to preserve the memory of these people but also to tell the stories of contemporary philanthropists who continue the tradition of creative service. We are convinced that philanthropy is not merely aid, but a special form of civic responsibility and love for one’s country. “This is precisely why the Polylog Foundation created the ‘Philanthropist’s Bulletin’ project, which will serve as a platform for bringing together historical experience, modern practices, and new meanings of global philanthropy,” noted Ramil Kerimov, Chairman of the Polylog Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations.
The project has already launched and will regularly publish content dedicated to the development of philanthropy, social service, civic initiatives, and a culture of active participation in the life of the country.
The launch of the “Philanthropist’s Gazette” is a continuation of the Polylog Foundation’s systematic work to preserve and promote the legacy of philanthropists. Ahead of Russia Day, the foundation also announced a nationwide grant competition to create a book about Russia’s outstanding philanthropists. Both initiatives are being implemented during the Year of National Unity and are aimed at strengthening historical memory, promoting traditions of constructive service to society, and fostering respect for people whose actions and philanthropic activities over the centuries have contributed to the development of the state, culture, science, and education.
