Over 50 applications received for the "Patrons of Russia: The Origins of Philanthropy" grant
The Polylog Foundation for the Development of Interethnic Relations has completed accepting applications for its grant competition for the development of popular science books on the history of Russian philanthropy, "Patrons of Russia: The Origins of Philanthropy." Over 50 applications were received during the application period. All submitted projects will be reviewed by a selection committee, and the winners are scheduled to be announced on September 16, 2026.
Applications were accepted from April 22 to July 30, 2026. Professional historians, researchers, and authors with relevant education, academic experience, and published works on history or related topics were invited to participate. Participants were required to provide information about their professional experience, previously published research or books, and a summary of their proposed popular science work.
More than 50 applications received confirmed the high interest of the research and author community in the history of Russian philanthropy. This topic encompasses several areas: the history of philanthropy, the development of culture, science, education, healthcare, cities, and public institutions, as well as the lives of individuals who dedicated their resources, knowledge, and influence to helping society.
The competition now moves to the next stage—the expert review of applications. Starting August 1, the competition committee will begin a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted materials. This process will continue until September 15.
