The Polylog Foundation held a special screening of the film “The Mountain of Languages” at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque during the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia
On February 15, with the blessing of Russia’s Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, a special screening of the documentary film “The Mountain of Languages” by director Rodion Ismailov took place at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
This event holds special significance for us—it is precisely in this year, declared by Presidential Decree of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, that we presented a film which vividly conveys the central idea: our strength lies in unity.
The film tells the story of Dagestan—a unique region where, for centuries, speakers of 32 languages and 120 dialects have lived in peace and harmony. This is a film about Russia: how different we are, yet when it comes to Russia, we become as one strong fist—standing for the unity of our people and our state.
Following the screening, a press conference was held, during which the filmmakers answered questions from the audience and spoke about the filming process and the film’s protagonists.
We sincerely believe that unity is not just a word, but a daily effort, an idea, and a responsibility for each and every one of us.
